About
15 years ago my love for weaving awakened. Equipped with my Ashford Rigid
Heddle Loom, using tabby-weaving as my base, a style which has nearly
inexhaustible possibilities including weft- and warp-faced patterns, I embarked
on a fascinating journey of discovery. My desire to create more complex
patterns in weaving led me to develop a technology which has enabled me to create
any 4-shaft-pattern on the Rigid Heddle
Loom in the simplest way possible.
Additionally, in the past years, I have also become
qualified to spin fibres from all sorts of animals, as well as flax, and to dye
them with plants.
The simplicity of warping and the joy of weaving on
the Rigid Heddle Loom correspond well with my need to experiment a great deal.
Meanwhile I have of course also become occupied with
“more-than-four-shaft”-weaving on an Ashford table-loom.
It is my personal goal not to make mass-produced
products, but rather to create unique beautifully detailed pieces instead. It’s
a great pleasure for me to share my
knowledge with interested students of all ages, I therefore give spinning and weaving lessons regularly.
Becoming the Austrian
distributor for the famous brand, Ashford-Handicrafts,
in 2004 enables me to offer you a wide range of spinning-wheels, looms,
carding-equipment as well as premium wool (sliver, blends and yarns) from
New-Zealand.
